Application of cable shielding
Cable shielding can be wrapped around the harness to prevent data loss, reduce its impact on the signal, and reduce electromagnetic radiation.
It is compatible with power cable insulation and all high-voltage connectors and termination materials.
Role of cable shielding
1. Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC):
The shielding net can effectively block the interference of external electromagnetic fields on the signals in the cable, and also prevent the signals in the cable from leaking out and interfering with other devices. This is essential to ensure the accuracy of data transmission and the stability of the power system.
2. Anti-noise ability:
In power cables, the shielding net can reduce the induced voltage caused by the magnetic field generated by adjacent currents, thereby reducing the noise level and improving the transmission quality.
3. Grounding path:
When the shield is properly grounded, it can act as a low impedance path to direct any transient voltages that may invade the cable (such as lightning strikes or electrostatic discharge), thereby protecting sensitive electronic equipment from damage.
4. Mechanical protection:
Although this is not its primary purpose, the shield does provide an additional layer of physical barrier to the cable, helping to protect against minor mechanical damage.

Braided shielding: The most common is to use fine copper wires woven into a grid-like structure. This form of shielding has good flexibility and high coverage.
Spiral wrapping shielding: Single or multiple metal tapes are wrapped around the cable in a spiral manner, suitable for applications that require higher flexibility.
Longitudinal wrapping shielding: Metal foil is wrapped directly around the cable longitudinally, suitable for high-frequency applications because it can provide better shielding.
Composite shielding: Combines two or more types of shielding methods, such as a layer of metal foil and then a layer of braided mesh to achieve the best shielding performance.
